Breakthrough exposes transnational terror module linked to JeM and AGuH; woman doctor from Lucknow arrested as probe widens beyond Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, November 10:

In one of the most significant counter-terror breakthroughs in recent months, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have dismantled an inter-state and transnational terror module linked to the proscribed outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH).

The operation has resulted in the arrest of eight individuals, including three medical professionals, and the seizure of a staggering 2900 kilograms of Improvised Explosive Device (IED)–making material.

According to police sources, the investigation began after multiple JeM posters were found pasted in the Bunpora Nowgam area of Srinagar on October 19, 2025, threatening police and security personnel. Subsequently, a case (FIR No. 162/2025) was registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosive Substances Act, and the Arms Act at Police Station Nowgam.

White-Collar Terror Ecosystem Uncovered.

Investigations revealed a complex “white-collar terror network” involving radicalized professionals, students, and religious figures allegedly working in coordination with handlers based in Pakistan and other countries.

The accused reportedly used encrypted digital platforms to coordinate activities, transfer funds, and plan operations. Authorities believe the group was also involved in raising money under the guise of charitable and educational initiatives to fund terror activities within and beyond Jammu and Kashmir.

Eight Arrested, Including Three Doctors

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested the following individuals in connection with the case:

1. Arif Nisar Dar @ Sahil, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar

2. Yasir-ul-Ashraf, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar

3. Maqsood Ahmad Dar @ Shahid, resident of Nowgam, Srinagar

4. Molvi Irfan Ahmad (Imam of Masjid), resident of Shopian

5. Zameer Ahmad Ahanger @ Mutlasha, resident of Wakura, Ganderbal

6. Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie @ Musaib, resident of Koil, Pulwama

7. Dr. Adeel, resident of Wanpora, Kulgam

8. Dr. Shaheen Shahid, resident of Lal Bagh, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)

Police said the arrest of Dr. Shaheen Shahid marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation. A car registered in her name was being used by Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie, from which a rifle and live cartridges were recovered. Her involvement is being examined to determine her role in facilitating the storage and movement of arms for the module.

Arms and Explosives Seized

During coordinated raids across Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal, and Shopian, as well as in Faridabad (Haryana) and Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), the following items were recovered:

* One Chinese Star Pistol with ammunition

* One Beretta Pistol with ammunition

* One AK-56 Rifle with ammunition

* One AK Krinkov Rifle with ammunition

* 2900 kilograms of IED-making material, including explosive substances, circuits, chemicals, batteries, wires, timers, and metallic fragments

Officials believe the seized materials were sufficient to create multiple high-intensity explosives, potentially aimed at large-scale terror strikes.

J&K Police Term Operation a Major Success

Senior officials described the operation as a major success against cross-border terrorism. “This investigation reflects the relentless efforts, professionalism, and dedication of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in dismantling terror networks operating at multiple levels,” an official stated.

The financial investigation into the module’s funding sources is ongoing. Authorities are examining both domestic and foreign money trails to uncover the larger network behind the terror plot

Investigation Expands Nationwide.

The arrest of Dr. Shaheen Shahid from Lucknow has expanded the probe beyond the Union Territory, with inter-agency cooperation continuing between the J&K Police, Haryana Police, and Uttar Pradesh Police. The operation underscores the growing collaboration between law enforcement agencies across states to counter emerging forms of radicalization and hybrid terrorism.

This operation stands as one of the most decisive counter-terror actions of the year — not only averting potential large-scale attacks but also exposing a disturbing nexus between educated professionals and extremist ideologies.
