In the wake of the recent cloudburst at Chashoti in Kishtwar district, which caused significant destruction and casualties among villagers and pilgrims enroute to the Machail Yatra, the Doda district administration has taken swift relief measures to support affected travelers.

Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, announced the establishment of three emergency shelters to accommodate Yatris and travelers passing through the region. The decision was made after assessing the situation and recognizing the need for safe resting places for those stranded due to the disaster.

“We have arranged facilities for around 200 people, ensuring they have a secure place to stay,” Singh said. One of the primary shelters has been set up at the Community Hall located between the Chief Agriculture Office and GMC Doda.

Travelers in need of assistance can contact the administration directly at 9596886096 for shelter arrangements and related support.

The administration has assured that all possible measures will be taken to provide comfort and safety to the pilgrims and other affected individuals during this difficult time.
