NFPRC Organises Workshop for MPs and MLAs on Health, Education and Digital Communication

MPs, MLAs and Policy Experts Discuss Healthcare, Education and Digital Outreach in Delhi

The Nation First Policy Research and Change Foundation (NFPRC) organised a special workshop for Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assemblies at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The workshop brought together lawmakers, policy experts and public representatives to deliberate on important issues related to healthcare, education reforms and digital communication.


Representatives from the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and various state legislatures participated in the programme. The initiative aimed to create a platform where elected representatives could engage with policy experts and discuss effective governance, institutional strengthening and impactful implementation at the grassroots level.



NFPRC Foundation Chairman Tarun Chugh, who was present during the workshop, reiterated the organisation’s commitment towards research-based dialogue and capacity building of public representatives. In his welcome address, Chugh highlighted the importance of strengthening healthcare services through Ayushman Bharat, implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 effectively and improving digital communication strategies for public representatives. He stated that coordinated institutional efforts and citizen-centric governance would play a key role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.



Lok Sabha MP Dr. C.N. Manjunath addressed a session titled “Ayushman Bharat: The New Foundation of India’s Healthcare System.” He said that schemes like PM-JAY and Health & Wellness Centres are significantly strengthening the country’s healthcare infrastructure. Discussions during the session focused on accessibility of healthcare services, digital health systems, claim processes and expansion of quality healthcare facilities to rural areas.


Senior Director of Central Square Foundation, Saurabh Chopra, spoke about the implementation of NEP 2020 and the transformation of India’s education ecosystem. He emphasised that digital learning, skill-based education and mother-tongue instruction are preparing Indian students for global opportunities and future employment. He further noted that technology-driven and quality education would become a strong pillar of a developed India.



During the event, a video message from Ashish Chandorkar, Counsellor at India’s Permanent Mission to the WTO in Geneva and author of How India Braved the Covid-19 Pandemic, was also screened. In his address, Chandorkar highlighted India’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He credited decisive leadership, public participation, digital platforms like CoWIN and one of the world’s largest vaccination drives for India’s effective handling of the crisis.



Lok Sabha MP Dr. Sambit Patra delivered a presentation on strategic digital outreach and the growing importance of effective communication in today’s evolving media landscape. He described social media as a powerful tool for public engagement and trust-building while stressing the need for responsible and strategic use of digital platforms. Discussions also covered media monitoring, dissemination of timely information and communication strategies during crisis situations. Dr. Patra underlined the importance of regional languages and local media in building deeper public connections.


The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by NFPRC Board Member Abhinav Prakash, who appreciated the participation of speakers and lawmakers. He stated that NFPRC would continue organising such research-oriented workshops and policy discussions to strengthen governance and support public representatives.


Participants appreciated the workshop for providing an unbiased and research-based platform for meaningful discussions and collaborative policy thinking. NFPRC also reaffirmed its commitment to organising future workshops, thematic discussions and support programmes aimed at improving governance and policy implementation across the country.
